Bruce Hardwick

Bruce Hardwick studied for his HND at the Derbyshire Institute of Higher Education in the mid-eighties, then completing his post graduate diploma at Bretton Hall College of the University of Leeds. Bruce works from his studio in Doncaster, South Yorkshire making stoneware ceramic sculptures. He enhances texture and form through his application of glazes and raku firing. Inspired by the natural world and our fragile environment Bruce chooses the extinct dodo, or threatened penguin populations as his subjects. Yet Bruce also brings humour to his finished work with each piece having a distinct character. His work is held in private collections internationally.
