Art of Protest x Brassic's Joseph Gilgun
25 September 2025 - 1 October 2026

We are excited to announce the addition of Joseph Gilgun to our gallery portfolio. A self-taught artist from Lancashire, Joseph’s journey to painting was anything but conventional. His years in the entertainment industry eventually led him back to art, where it became both therapy and obsession. From his Manchester studio he explores themes of identity, emotion and society, often working with unconventional materials that bring raw honesty to his practice. A collection of original works are now available exclusively through the gallery.
Influenced by George Condo, Goya, Bacon and the great poets, Joseph’s instinctive process resists conformity, offering work that is deeply personal, unfiltered and profoundly human.
Joseph modestly states, “I don’t know what I’m doing.”
