Born in Singapore, raised in a remote Welsh valley and now based in the north west of England, Gareth Tristan Evans, also known as The Trunk of Funk is a celebrated mixed media artist whose work is gaining acclaim among collectors in the United Kingdom and beyond.

Gareth’s pieces blend photography, digital art and traditional brushwork, all elevated by his perfectionist eye for detail. Each artwork that leaves his studio is meticulously crafted, often layered with metal leaf, acrylics, Hanko stamps, Japanese postage stamps and 3D relief tiles, creating rich textures that shimmer with depth and meaning.

His acclaimed Urban Geisha series reimagines traditional Eastern symbolism through the lens of modern street art and design, producing striking, one-of-a-kind works that fuse elegance, attitude and cultural storytelling.
