Art You Can Hear brings together three very different artists — Peter Davis , Mul and Sam Joesbury — for an exhibition that examines the language, rhythm and energy of music through contemporary art.

Across original paintings, limited-edition prints and exclusive artist-designed T-shirts, the show explores how music shapes identity, memory, atmosphere and culture. The exhibition opens on Friday 18 September , coinciding with the annual global Band Shirt Day, with the release of three exclusive Peter Davis T-shirt designs.

Peter Davis Prize-winning Manchester artist known for portraits and urban landscapes exploring contemporary life, Davis has exhibited at the Aesthetica Art Prize, John Moores Painting Prize, Royal Scottish Academy and the Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Portrait Award. The show features five new original works alongside three limited-edition, silver-leaf embellished prints — including The B's of Manchester , his portrait of Andy Burnham.

Mul (Alex Mulholland)

Newcastle-based street artist, graphic designer and creative director Mul is known for vibrant large-scale murals and his signature “Running Heart” character. His recent work includes a collaboration with heritage brand Barbour, as well as a creative partnership with the Great North Run in Newcastle, where his distinctive artwork featured across the event.

The exhibition features lyric-based originals alongside new found-object works, being shown for the first time.

Sam Joesbury York-based Fine Art graduate bringing an Impressionist eye to live music, sketching bands and artists in real time as they perform. The exhibition features a live-drawn Leeds Festival display, including a sketch worked up into a full painting — bringing the immediacy of a live gig straight into the gallery.
