Lizard King

Lizard King

Bronze

This piece is a playful imagining of an ancient artefact - a bronze effigy of a fictional deity I call the Lizard King. It's inspired by the absurd yet strangely persistent conspiracy theory that lizard people secretly walk among us. I wanted to take that idea and push it into the realm of mythology, as if some forgotten civilisation had genuinely worshipped this reptilian god.

The sculpture is deliberately rough and archaic in style, mimicking the wear and mystery of ancient relics. I wanted it to feel like something you might stumble upon in a museum, or buried beneath centuries of sand - a sacred object from a culture we never knew existed. The blend of dinosaur features and mechanical, humanoid elements is meant to blur lines between beast, machine, and god - reflecting how humans often project power and fear onto the unknown.

Ultimately, this is a piece about belief, absurdity, and the stories we tell to make sense of the strange. It's meant to make you smile, wonder, and maybe question what future generations will think of our myths.
