Bronze

No Hope is a sculpture forged from the remnants of a melted Millennium Falcon toy a deliberate act of transformation that dismantles childhood nostalgia and pop culture mythology. By casting the distorted remains in bronze, the work both preserves and fossilises a symbol of hope, rebellion, and escapism, now collapsed under the weight of cynicism and entropy.

What once flew at lightspeed through galaxies far, far away is now grounded warped, heavy, unrecognisable. The bronze gives it permanence, but also a kind of tragic finality. It's a meditation on how time corrodes meaning, how heroes fade, and how the symbols we once looked to for hope can become monuments to disappointment.

This piece asks: When our cultural icons melt, what's left behind? A relic? A ruin? Or the uncomfortable truth that even our fantasies are not immune to decay?
