A village car park in Sussex, regularly strimmed by the council for years, bloomed for the first time during lockdown in 2020. This work celebrates the biodiversity that subsequently appeared on a small patch of ground (at What3Words location ///bashed.tend.coil), and calls for a re-imagining of our relationship with nature. Silhouettes of invertebrates and amphibians are hidden around the image as examples of creatures whose lives depend on wild plants, many are in decline because of seemingly insignificant management decisions.
